Stamp Anniething: You Did It! Graduation Card

There are only about three to four months left in the school year so it's time to start making graduation cards. Here in California, it is unlikely that there will be any big graduation ceremonies for the graduates. However, you can still send a graduation card to congratulate them. I am sharing a shaker card I made using this adorable stamp from Stamp Anniething called Annie-You Did It

I made this card using several products from Stamp Anniething. These products sell fast and if you see a product that is out of stock, enter your email address to be notified when it is back in stock again. Entering your email address will alert the company to reorder and restock the item.
First I stamped the image and the sentiment onto white cardstock. I colored the stamp using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and then fussy cut her out (colors are listed below). Then I used the Falling Hearts stencil to ink the card front.

Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers Used:
Skin: TN7, RB2, TN1, RB1
Cheeks: FS4
Tongue: PP4, PP1
Hair: True Black, IG9, IG6, IG2
Red: DR5, DR4, DR3, CR10, DR1, PP4
White: BG6, BG4, BG3, Blender

Next, I cut four of the For You Circle Dies using heavy white cardstock and glued them together. Before gluing the last layer, I inserted a piece of acetate for the shaker window. I then die cut a circle using the circle die from Shaker Basics Set 1 out of black cardstock. I placed some shaker bits onto the black cardstock and glued down the For You circle die cuts to form the shaker. I waited for the glue to dry before I tested the shaker. I glued this onto the card front.

I cut the sentiment out using dies from the Banner Die set and adhered it to the bottom of the card. I added a few red sequins to it. I adhered the stamp onto the shaker using double sided adhesive tape instead of liquid glue. I did not want the liquid glue to ooze onto the acetate.

Lastly, I used a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to add glitter all over the stamp.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you are inspired to start your graduation cards! Have a creative week!

Stamp Anniething: Back to the 80’s!!

It’s been a great week reminiscing about the 80’s while I work on my design team projects for Stamp Anniething. They released a new Grab and Go Box called, “Back to the 80’s.”  A Grab and Go Box comes with all the things you need to make cards. This kit can also be used for scrapbooking, journaling, treat boxes, etc. It comes with stamps, dies, patterned paper, a stencil, cardstock with envelopes, glue, double-sided adhesive, ribbon, shaker bits, and enamel dots! All you need are scissors, a paper trimmer, a die cut machine, and your favorite coloring medium.

Few of the stamps in the Back to the 80’s Grab and Go Box were inspired by characters from several movies from the 80’s: 1) The Breakfast Club; 2) 16 Candles; and 3) Flash Dance. Then there are stamps that reflect what was trendy back then: 1) Break Dancing and 2) Big boom boxes. All the elements in the Grab and Go box are so fun and so 80's! It brought back so many great memories for me as I was a young adult then.

I made four cards to share today and will continue to make many more using this Grab and Go Box as there is an ample supply of stamps and papers still to use!

Conie Fong Art & Design: Gnome Sweethearts

I am always in need of birthday cards. I try to build my stash with cards that will suit different ages. Today I made a card using Conie Fong's adorable "Gnome Sweethearts," which is great for both kids and adults. This digital stamp set is called Gnome Sweethearts with Dogs and Sentiment Bundle comes with 11 images (1 gnome sweethearts, 5 dogs, 5 sentiments) and it comes in PNG or JPG formats. This is also a great stamp for other occasions, such as Valentine's Day, friendship, and hello.

Head on over to our Facebook fan page and check out the monthly challenges. Lots of winners and prizes!

I first imported the images into my Silhouette Cameo software and placed the dogs around the gnomes then printed it on cardstock. I then printed the same image on Eclipse masking tape so that I could mask the images before I ink blended the background.

After applying the masking tape, I used Distress Oxide inks in Lucky Clover for the grass and Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans for the sky making sure I did not ink over the sentiment. I then peeled off the mask and was ready to Copic color the images. Copic colors are listed below.

Copic Markers Used:
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks & Dog's tongue: R21, R20
Beard: T5, T3, T1
Hair: E59, E25, E33, E21
Blue: B06, B04, B02, B01, B00
Yellow: Y38, Y35, Y15, Y13, Y11
Black: T7, T5, T3, T1
Pink: RV02, RV00, RV000
Labrador retriever: E53, E42, E41
Maltese: T5, T3, T2, T0
Bulldog: E44, E43, E42, E41
Yorkie: W5, W3, W2, W0

I used a Copic Multi-liner to draw hearts on the caps and dots on their clothes. I used a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen on the hearts, flower, and pom-poms. To finish the card, I added flower gems to the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card. Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!

Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios: Dream Big Circus

When my daughter was little, she had a lot of stuffed animals. She would pretend that she was either a veterinarian or a circus ring leader. This adorable digital stamp from Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios, called Dream Big Circus, reminds me so much of my daughter.

For this A2 sized top-folding card, I printed the stamp and then used a scallop die from Gina Marie Designs to cut it out. I then colored it using Copic markers. Colors are listed below.

Copic markers used:

Skin: R42, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: E93
Hair: E39, YR24, YR23, YR20
Pink: RV66, RV55, RV52
Yellow: Y38, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11
Lion: YR27, YR24, YR23, YR21
Blue: BG78, BG49, BG57, BG45, B01, BG000
Ground: T3, T2, T1, T0

I used a tent die set from Stamp Anniething called Under the Big Top to create the circus tent. I printed the sentiment and used a paper trimmer to cut it. I made yellow and teal colored banner mats, cut them in half and put it behind the sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a very creative day!

Paper Nest Dolls: Mermaid Princess

When my daughter was three years old, her favorite Disney movie was The Little Mermaid. This was one movie I really enjoyed watching repeatedly. This July, Disney is coming out with a live action movie starring Halle Bailey (musician) as Ariel and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula! I can't wait for this movie to come out! After hearing about this news, I had to make a card with Paper Nest Dolls' Ariel-inspired mermaid, "Mermaid Princess." This stamp comes in red rubber and in digital (I used the digital).

I kept the A2 sized card simple by printing the digital stamp and then used masking tape to mask it so that I can do some ink blending for the background. I used Distress Ink in Vintage Photo to ink blend the bottom to make it look like sand, then used my Copic markers to highlight the ripples in the water and used a light brushing of Distress Oxide in Mermaid Lagoon to make the water. Lastly, I used a cloud stencil from Stamp Anniething and used Distress Oxide in Mermaid Lagoon ink for the sky.

After the background was done, I peeled off the mask and colored the image using Copic markers. Colors are listed below.

Copic markers used:
Hair: E18, E08, YR18, YR14
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: R20
Teal: BG57, BG13, BG23, BG11
Purple: V15, V12, V01
Yellow: Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11
Brown: E44, E47, E55, E42
Water: B01, B00, B000

I cut out a lacy die from Gina Marie Designs. I cut out a white mat and colored the edges with Distress Oxide in Mermaid Lagoon to match the clouds. I typed the sentiment using my computer and printed it out then used a Banner Die from Stamp Anniething, inked the edges with a Copic marker (BG57) and adhered it to the card using foam squares. I used a white gel pen to add some dots for highlights to the card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!

RAM & MFT Collaboration Stamp: Birthday Cutie

How exciting for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios to be collaborating with My Favorite Things Stamps! I am using the new release from My Favorite Things called "Birthday Cutie" to create this step card. It is so exciting for our digital stamp design team to receive some clear stamp sets from MFT to create some adorable cards!

I stamped the Birthday Cutie and colored her with Copic markers. I used a Prismacolor pencil in Jade to draw in a knit pattern for her sweater. I used a Spectrum Noir sparkle pen and added glitter to the clothes, kitty blankie, and balloon. I used a white gel pen for the flowers on her dress.

I then fussy cut her out; however, there is a Die-namics die available if you'd rather use a die.

Copic markers used:

Skin: E15, E13, E02, E00, E000
Hair: E35, E33, Y32
Cheeks: R20
Green: BG93, BG90, G00, G0000
Pink (Sweater & Balloons): RV55, RV52, RV11, RV10, RV00
Pink (Kitty): RV02, RV52, R21

I then cut out all the cardstock and pattern papers I needed for my step card. Instructions and cut sizes are available on a previous blog post. Click on this link:
Step card instructions. I cut out a circle and circle frame using the dies from Stamp Anniething's Shaker Basic Set #1. I used a Stamp Anniething Grass Builder stencil and used Oxide Ink in Evergreen Bough to make the grass. I used the Stamp Anniething Cloud stencil and used Oxide inks in Spun Sugar to make the clouds.

These stamps are selling fast at My Favorite Things, so head on over to their website now to check them out! Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!

Blank Page Muse Art Rubber Stamps: Romance Art Journal Page

Welcome to my first ever art journal post! Art journaling is new to me so I wanted to keep it simple by using supplies I am familiar with, such as distress inks and sprays, die cuts, paint, and red rubber stamps. I love this stamp set from Blank Page Muse called Romance Rubber Stamp Set. It comes with 6 beautiful graphic stamps and 6 sentiment stamps.

Since February is National Creative Romance Month and Romance is the theme for the Blank Page Muse monthly challenge, I thought it would be fun to make my first art journal page with hearts and romance-themed stamps! You too can make one and enter it in our monthly challenge!

Supplies:

  • Blank Page Muse Stamps: Romance Rubber Stamp Set
  • Removable tape to cover edge of journal (I used washi tape)
  • Gesso & paint brush
  • Distress oxide inks: Spun sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple, Fired Brick
  • Wide removable tape to cover center binding coils of journal (I used 3M Durapore tape)
  • Wax paper
  • Distress sprays: Worn lipstick, Festive berries, Wilted Violet, Picket Fence
  • Heat gun
  • Solvent black ink pad (I used StazOn)
  • Thin white paper, such as tissue, tracing, or onion (I used onion paper)
  • Stamping block or stamp positioner
  • Colored pencils - any brand - pink, green, purple, peach, sepia/gray
  • Heart die cuts in various sizes, colors, and paper patterns (I used 12)
  • Distress ink & ink applicator: Vintage photo
  • Collage medium, matte
  • White acrylic paint and small stiff brush for splattering

Instructions:
  • Cover the edges of the journal page that is next to the coil binding. Put wax paper behind each of the pages to protect the other pages. Use a paint brush to add a light layer of gesso.

  • Using a blender brush or foam applicator, apply the distress inks in the order shown.

  • Cover the center coils with wide tape to keep it clean when spraying inks in the next step
  • Put the journal in a fairly deep box so when you spray, the over-spray will be contained in the box.

  • Spray a light layer of the Worn Lipstick and let it dry before adding the next colors in the order shown. Make sure each color is dry before spraying the next one. Spray as much or as little as you like. You can use a heat gun to dry in between each color. After all the colors were sprayed, let mine it dry overnight. Continue to prepare the stamped images and die cuts.

  • Using a stamping block or stamp positioner, stamp the images with waterproof black ink on thin white tissue paper, tracing paper, or onion paper. Use a heat gun to help dry the ink and to heat set it.

  • Use color pencils to add color to the stamped images.
  • Fussy cut the colored images. Use Distress ink to distress the edges. Ink the Old Paper in the center of the image and Vintage Photo on the edges.
  • Cut out 12 heart shapes in various sizes, colors, and patterned paper. I used left over hearts from previous projects. Distress the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
  • Assemble the hearts and stamped images onto your pages until you find a layout you love. Take a picture of it before you adhere the pieces down to use as a reference.
  • Use collage medium to glue down your heart pieces only (do not glue the stamped images!). For hearts that will be overlapping a stamped image, do not put glue on those parts yet. Keep it glue free so it will be easier to slip the stamped image under it.
  • Next step is to do a little paint splattering on the page and hearts. Add a couple drops of white paint onto an acrylic block. If it's thick, add a drop or two of water to thin it. Using a paint brush, flick drops onto the hearts and all over the page.
  • Adhere the stamped images using collage medium. For the overlapped pieces, put some collage medium on a palette knife and slip under the heart.

I had fun making my first art journal page. When I was doing some research on how to start an art journal, it was overwhelming. There were lots of information on bullet journals, junk journals, collage art journals, sketch journals, word art journals, etc. I figured if I call mine an art journal, it can be any type of art and it can be different each time I make something. It's so fun to do! Give it a try.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful and creative day! ~Betty~

Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios Collaboration with My Favorite Things: You're My Jam

How exciting for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios to be collaborating with My Favorite Things Stamps! I am using the new "You're My Jam" stamp set with all these adorable characters to create this slimline card. How fun for our digital stamp design team to receive some clear stamp sets from My Favorite Things to create some fun and cute cards!

First I stamped all the images and then I masked them using Eclipse Masking Tape. I ink blended the background using grass stencils and cloud stencils from Stamp Anniething. The grass is inked in Distress Oxide Inks in Evergreen Bough and Lucky Clover. The clouds are inked in Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon.

After inking the background, I removed the masks and colored the stamped images with Copic markers. Colors are listed below.

Copic markers used:
Bear & Squirrel: E55, E53, YR20, E50
Bunny: T5, T3, T1, T0, RV02, RV00
Turtle: YG97, YG17, YG23, YG11
Hedgehog: E55, E53, YR20, E50, E25
Pink cheeks: R21
Orange: YR07, YR04, YR02, YR01
Yellow: Y17, Y15, Y02
Blue: B04, B02, B00

After coloring was done, I used my stamp positioner to add the sentiment. Lastly, I used the Stamp Anniething slimline basic frame die to frame the card front and adhered it to a slimline card base.

These stamps are going like hotcakes, so if you want to get a set, head on over to My Favorite Things Stamps today! For this stamp set, there is also a coordinating Die-namics to die cut your images!

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!

Stamp Anniething: Jeannie - Make a Wish

Does this genie look familiar? I grew up watching my favorite genie, I Dream of Jeannie. I just loved the beautiful genie bottle, especially when she was inside of it. When I saw this stamp called Jeannie - Make a Wish, I fell in love with it and I knew I had to make a card with her on Cocoa Beach!

I colored the stamp using Copic markers and then fussy cut her and the bottle. Copic marker colors are listed below.

Copic colors used:
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: R20
Tongue: Rv23, R20
Hair: E59, E25, E33, E21
Pink: RV14, RV13, RV02, RV00
Purple: V04, V12, V01
Yellow: Y38, Y35, Y32

For the background, I used two of Stamp Anniething's new Builder Stencils. I first used the Beach Stencil Builder to create the sand and water. Then I used the Cloud Stencil Builder for the clouds. I used Distress Inks for all of the stenciling. For the sand, I used in Antique Linen, Brush Corduroy, and Walnut Stain. I used Copic  markers E55 and E35 to make dots to add texture to the sand. For the water/ocean, I used Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans. For the clouds, I used Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, and Wild Honey.

The sentiment that comes with the stamp is "make a wish." Since I wanted to use the large Wish word die, I cut off the word wish and just used "make a."  I used a Stampin' Up punch to punch out these words. I used distress inks (same blue and yellow colors above) for the Wish word die. I cut out two rocks from the Volcano Builder die set and ink blended them using Stamp Anniething's Hybrid ink in Pecan and Moon Rock.

I cut a slimline card base out of white cardstock and then used the Slimline Basic Frame die to cut out a frame using pink cardstock. I adhered everything, except the small rock with foam squares. I used adhesive glue for the small rock.

What a fun card this was to make! I hope you give this card a try. It's such a cute stamp!

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative week!

Conie Fong Art & Design: Bella with Balloons

I like to create a stash of Thank You cards so that when I need them they are available. Today I am sharing a thank you card I made using the adorable Conie Fong Bella with Balloons digital stamp. This stamp set comes with left and right facing images so I decided to put both stamps on this card. This set also comes with the flower balloon with the word "mom" so that it can be used for Mother's Day or a card for mom.

Head on over to our Facebook fan page and check out the monthly challenges. Lots of winners and prizes!

This is a slimline card. I used watercolor paper and Distress inks in Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon to ink clouds using the Cloud stencils from Stamp Anniething. The stamps are colored using Copic markers (colors below).

Copic Markers used:
Brown: E44, E43, E42, E41
Green: YG17, YG13, YG11
Orange: YR18, YR16, YR15, YR12

I used the the Stamp Anniething slimline scalloped frame & the banner dies, then finished the card with some enamel dots Michaels.

These stamps are easy and fun to color. They're also easy to fussy cut. I'll be making few more of these thank you cards for my stash. Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!
