Paper Nest Dolls: Happy Mother's Day Card Using Lulu With Peony

I am getting a jump start on getting a few Mother's Day cards done. When I saw this beautiful digital stamp from Paper Nest Dolls called Lulu with Peony, I instantly knew it was going to be made into a Mother's Day card. I added some patterned paper, flowers, and a bow to make this beautiful card.

To make this A6 size card, I first printed the digital stamp 3-3/4" tall and colored it with Copic markers.

Copic markers used:
Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: E93
Hair: E37, E35, E33, E31
Blue: B97, B95, B93, B91
Green: G16, YG09, YG06
Orange: R08, R14, R02

I used my paper trimmer to cut the colored stamp rectangular to the size of 3"W x 4"H. I then matted it with a cobalt blue cardstock, leaving 1/8" border. The background orange paper is an older paper from my stash. I also matted it with the cobalt blue cardstock. Before adhering these strips down, I added a strip of satin ribbon. I cut out two strips of patterned paper at 1-1/2"W x 5-1/4"H from the Summertime paper pack from Echo Park. I staggered them and adhered them to the card. I then adhered the colored stamp.

I added some flowers from I Am Roses to the front of the card. I adhered them to the card with hot glue. Next, I created the Happy Mother's Day sentiment on my computer, printed it, trimmed it, and matted it with the cobalt blue cardstock then adhered it to the card. To finish the card, I added a double loop bow to the card.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you a wonderful and creative day! ~Betty~

I just love the coordinating Arabian Nights Stencil and the Moroccan Vibes paper pack to create beautiful cards. Today's card features the handsome prince and his adorable side kick monkey.

To make this A2 card, I first stamped the images, colored them with Copic markers, then cut them out using the coordinated outline dies.

Copic colors used:
Prince
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: R20
Hair: E49, E47, E44, E43
Shirt and Pants: E57, E55, E53, E51

Monkey
Brown: E39, E35, E34, E33, E31, E000

I cut out the white cardstock mat with the scalloped rectangle with one of the Scrappy Boy Stamps A2 Stitched Scalloped Edge Dies.  Then I cut the circle with a double-stitched circle die from Gina Marie Designs. I used Distress Inks in Dusty Concord and Worn Lipstick and the Arabian Nights Stencil to create the pattern on white cardstock and placed it behind the circle cutout.

I used patterned paper from the Moroccan Vibes paper pack to place under the white scalloped piece then matted it with lavender-colored cardstock. Everything is adhered using liquid glue except for the prince and monkey, where I used double sided adhesive foam tape.

To finish the card, I stamped, trimmed, and matted the sentiment then adhered it to the card. I added a few enamel dots and the card was finished!

Stamp Anniething & SVG Cutting Files: Princess Pull-out Birthday Card

It's been a long time since I've used my Silhouette Cameo, so I dusted it off and used a cutting file from Stamp Anniething's sister company, SVG Cutting Files and cut out this fabulous Castle Slider Card with Opening Door. Oh how I miss paper piecing and putting cards together! I then colored this cute princess, Giselle - For a Princess, stamp and added her to my card.

For the Castle Slider Card, I cut out the main body of the castle using the heart patterned paper from the Bake Shop Paper Pack. The rest of the pieces are cut out from blue cardstock I had in my stash. I used the Brick stencil from the Level Up Grab and Go Box and Distress Ink in Black Soot to add a brick pattern to the pocket front. For all the other pieces, I added some sparkle with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. I glued all the pieces of the castle together, except for the pocket front, with liquid glue.

The background piece is cut out using the Scalloped Edge Card Mat Die. I added some clouds using the Clouds Stencil and Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass. I inked the bottom with Distress Oxide in Mowed Lawn to make the grass (you can see the grass when the castle is pulled out and the castle door is open).

I adhered the castle pocket front to the background making sure the liquid glue does not ooze out of the edges. Let the glue dry then insert the slider card to make sure it slides in and out easily.

Stamp the sentiments, trim, and adhere to the castle. I adhered the entire card front onto an A2 top folding white cardstock.

Next, I stamped the image, colored it with Copic markers, then fussy cut her out.

Copic markers used:
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: R20
Tongue: R22, R21
Hair: E37, E55, E53, E51, Y32 plus Prismacolor pencil PC944
Yellow: YR27, YR24, YR21, YR20
Blue: B18, B16, B14, B12

I added some "sparkle" to her dress using a white gel pen. I adhered the colored stamp with double-sided foam tape and the card was finished.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you give this card a try. It's so fun! Have a wonderful and crafty day!

Parrot: E23, Y38, Y35, R29, R24, R22, B24, B23, B21

The background consists of patterned papers from the Arabian Nights paper pack and a cutout of the palace from the Magic Lamp Stencil. To create the palace cutout, I inked the stencil using Distress Ink in black soot on white cardstock, then fussy cut it out.

I created the gold stenciled piece using the Arabian Nights Stencil using gold embossing powder then cut it out using one of the Scrappy Boys A2 Stitched Scalloped Edge Dies (will be available soon!). I used this same die to trim the edge of the purple patterned paper to make it look like the villain is standing on a rug. All the papers are adhered using liquid glue except for the villain where I used double sided adhesive foam tape.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment, trimmed it, inked the edges with Distress Ink in black soot, and adhered it with liquid glue.

I matted the card front using the polka dotted paper from the Retro Kitchen Paper Pack and then a solid blue cardstock. I also cut out strips of these papers to add to the card front so Molly had something to stand on. To finish the card, I adhered a few of the Sunflower Blooms Sprinkles.

Additional products used are Shaker Basics Set 1 (circle die), and Banner Dies.

I first stamped the image, colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out with the coordinating outline die.

I first created the textured background using Art Deco Peaks Stencil and The Crafters Workshop Turquoise Stencil Butter. It is my favorite texture paste! I let this dry for about 2 hours to make sure if was completely dry before I used the rectangular Card Mat Die to cut it.

I used the circle from Shaker Basics Set 1 to cut a circle using bristol water color paper. I ink blended the bottom of the circle to make it look like dirt using Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I then used the Clouds Stencil and Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass to create the clouds. I then splattered everything with water and blotted up the excess with a paper towel.

I used black and teal cardstock to cut the word Hope. Then I stamped the two sentiments and used a Banner Die to cut them. I cut off the top sentiment to place onto the edge of the card. Stamp Anniething Sneak Peek Day 2: Keep it Green

Welcome to Day 2 of Stamp Anniething's March sneak peeks where the theme is Earth Day! As I mentioned in yesterday's blog, Earth Day is an annual event held on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Let's all celebrate Earth Day to protect our planet from pollution and deforestation. We can take part in making our planet a healthier place to live by picking up litter, planting trees, and recycling. Let's send a card to a friend to remind her/him of this special day and for him/her to participate in making our planet a happier place to live!

Today's card features the adorable Liang - Keep it Green stamp, it's coordinating outline die, and the Hope Word Die. I made a clean and simple top-folding A2 card.

Additional products used for this card are the Grass Stencils, Cloud Stencils, and Jelly Dots.

I first stamped the image, colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out with the coordinating outline die.

Copic markers used:
Skin: Y000, RV42, E97, R02, E01, E00
Cheeks: RV42
Tongue: R22, R20
Hair: 100, C7, C5, C3
Red: R29, R24, R22
Blue: B97, B95, B93, B91
Brown: E29, E25, E23, E21
Green: G16, G14, YG11
White: T5, T3, T1, 0

I used the rectangular Card Mat Die to cut a card front out of bristol watercolor paper. I ink blended the grass using Stamp Anniething Grass Stencils with Distress Oxide ink in Mowed Lawn. I then ink blended the sky using Stamp Anniething Cloud Stencils with Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass. I splattered some water on to the oxide ink and blotted the excess using a paper towel.

I ink blended white cardstock with Distress Oxide ink in Mowed Lawn then used the Hope Word Die to cut out the word hope. I used black cardstock to cut out the outline part of the word hope then glued the two parts together. I adhered it to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment, "keep it green", then trimmed it with a paper trimmer and added fish tales to both ends. I added a black cardstock mat.

I adhered Liang onto the card front using liquid glue. To finish the card, I added a few jelly dots.

Stamp Anniething Sneak Peek Day 1: THISTLE be the best day ever!

Welcome to day one of Stamp Anniething's March sneak peeks. This month's theme is all about Earth Day. Earth Day is an annual event held on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Events are coordinated globally through earthday.org. We celebrate Earth Day to protect our planet from pollution and deforestation. Everyone can take part in making our planet a healthier place to live by picking up litter, planting trees, and recycling. Send a card to a friend to remind her/him of this special day and for him/her to participate in making our planet a happier place to live!

Today's sneak peek includes our cute stamp called, Stephen - Thistle be the Best Day, it's coordinating outline die, and the Love Earth Shaker Add On. This is an A2 size, top folding, shaker card.

Additional products I used are the Spring Surprise Paper Pad, Shaker Basics Set 1, Green Itty Bitty Beads, Chipboard, and the Card Mat Die.

I first stamped the image and colored it with Copic markers. This does come with a coordinating outline die, however, I fussy cut it since my die cutting machine broke and my new one had not arrived.

Copic markers used:
Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
Cheeks: R20
Tongue: R22, R20
Hair: E29, E25, E23, E20
Gray pants: C9, C7, C5, C3
Red: R29, R24, R22
Shoes: E29, R25, E23, E21
Blue: B06, B05, B02, B01
Green: G16, G14, YG11

I made the shaker part using the new Love Earth Shaker Add on. I first ink blending white cardstock with Distress Oxide ink in Blue Lagoon then used this die to cut out the shaker top. The back of the shaker is ink blended with Distress Oxide inks in Lucky Clover and Mermaid Lagoon to make it look like the Earth.

I cut it out using the circle die from Shaker Basics Set 1 and at this time also cut out a piece of acetate for the front of the shaker. I used the circle frame die to cut out 6 layers of chipboard to build up the shaker. I wanted to make sure the beads shook freely!

I glued the chipboard pieces together with liquid glue the glued it onto the backing. I then glued the acetate onto the Love Earth Shaker die cut. I filled the bottom of the shaker with Green Itty Bitty Beads the carefully glued the top onto the shaker. Do not shake until the glue has dried!

I used the Card Mat Die to cut the A2 front panel using paper from the Spring Surprise Paper Pack. I used the circle from Shaker Basics Set 1 to cut a hole for the shaker. I inserted the shaker then used three layers of foam tape to adhere the card front onto the card base. I adhered the Stephen stamp onto the card front using liquid glue.

I stamped the sentiment and used paper trimmers to trim it to size to fit my card. I added a mat with the paper I had left over when I cut out the shaker front. I also used the heart die from the Love Earth Shaker Add On and cut it out with the remaining paper from the card front. I adhered the heart using double-sided adhesive foam squares.

I love making shaker cards and it gets easier each time I make them. Give this card a try, it's pretty fun!

Thank you for visiting and come back tomorrow for Day 2 of our sneak peeks!
