It's been several months since I've had time to participate in the monthly Woodblock Wednesday Challenge run by Amy Tsuruta. The challenge is to make a card using wood mounted rubber stamps. I’m using older stamps for this card. To be honest, I don't really have any new stamps, since my new rubber stamps now come unmounted, where I use a clear block to stamp. However, I love my older wood-mounted stamps and still continue to use them.
Today's card uses two woodblock stamps. The first one is from Penny Black, Inc. called Delicate Blossoms (SKU 4404K). You can still get this stamp on Penny Black, Inc.'s website if you search the SKU number. It's also available on Amazon. The second stamp (sentiment) is from Stampin' Up, called Kind and Caring Thoughts stamp set. This is a retired set, but a used set can be found on Ebay.
It's also been quite some time, that I've used my Momento Water-based Dual Markers. Since the Delicate Blossoms stamp is a silhouette stamp, it is perfect to ink the actual stamp with the markers, huff, then stamp. This method made it look as if I used watercolors. I used the Stampin' Up Stamp a Ma Jig to re-stamp 3 times to get the image just perfect.
Products & supplies used:
- Penny Black, Inc. Delicate Blossoms stamp
- Stampin' Up (sentiment) Kind and Caring Thoughts (retired)
- Momento Dual Markers in Rich Cocoa and Angel Pink
- Fabriano Artistico Watercolour Paper (you can use regular cardstock)
- A2 White card base
- Brown cardstock for mat/panel
- Stampin' Up Stamp a Ma Jig
I love how this clean and simple card turned out. I hope you give this a try!
