Woodblock Wednesday: Birthday Wishes

It's been awhile since I've participated in the Woodblock Wednesday Challenge. This challenge is to create a project using a woodblock stamp as the focal point. I used a stamp and patterned paper that I had purchased at the Impress Rubber Stamps Store during a girls trip to Seattle, Washington in 2019. I can't believe I held onto this stamp and paper for so long! It was a memorable trip to this store and I was sad to hear that it had closed a couple of years ago.

I don't know the name of the stamp from Impress Rubber Stamps. The name of the patterned paper is Happy Days. I wish I had bought more of this beautiful paper.

Supplies used:
  • 6x6 white card base
  • Black cardstock for panels/mats and sentiment
  • White cardstock for sentiment
  • Bristol cardstock for ink smooshing
  • Distress inks in Iced Spruce, Shabby Shutters, Broken China
  • Birthday Wishes Die from Scrappy Boy Stamps (use any word die you wish)
  • Nesting Stitched Circle Dies from Scrappy Boy Stamps: 3-15/16" and 4-3/16"
  • Staz-On Black Ink Pad
Tips/Notes:
  • Trim the black cardstock and patterned papers leaving a 1/8" border and adhere to the card base.
  • Ink smoosh the Bristol cardstock with the Distress Ink colors listed above
  • Using nested circles, cut out a circle using the 3-15/16" die. Then stamp 3 flowers using the Staz-on ink. Set aside to dry or heat set with heat gun.
  • Cut out a circle from the black cardstock using the 4-3/16" die. Adhere to the card base.
  • Adhere the stamped piece onto the black cardstock.
  • Die cut the sentiment and adhere onto the card front and you are finished!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a creative day!
