Stamp Anniething - 2020 Birthday Girl

Today I am sharing a card I made with a free stamp I received on my birthday from Stamp Anniething. I belong to their Deluxe Monthly Stamp Club and one of the perks is a free stamp on your birthday. This stamp is not for sale until January and only if there are any left over. I made this card for one of my co-design team members in one of my other stamp groups.

I colored the image with Copic markers. The patterned paper was from Stampin' Up years ago. The cupcake die cut is a punch from Stampin' Up, which I got years ago too.

Thank you for stopping by!

Blank Page Muse Art Rubber Stamps - Fall Collection 2

Last month, I won a $100 gift card from Blank Page Muse Art Rubber Stamps (Thank you Kim!), a stamp company that makes red rubber stamps. I picked out a few stamps and saved about half of the gift card for a future purchase. The card I made is from their Fall Collection 2 set. This set came with 7 beautiful fall stamps and 6 sentiment stamps. Wow, 13 stamps in one set! Check out their website for all their wonderful and unique stamps. Their stamps are pressed to order and all hand-made! All of my stamps were perfect. I also got a set of Christmas stamps and two Asian stamps that I will use for a future blog post.

EDIT 8/29/2020: I have entered this card in the Blank Page Muse Monthly Challenge: The 4 Seasons

Keep in mind that these red rubber stamps come unmounted, uncut, and without the foam, so it takes a little prep work to get them ready for stamping. I used a pair of very sharp scissors to cut out the stamps. After cutting them out, I used my Tim Holtz stamp positioner to stamp them so I would have a picture of each stamp. Because these stamps do not have the foam cling on them (you can order them with the foam cling), all I had to do was add a large piece of craft foam under my cardstock and added a piece of washi tape on each stamp to stamp the images. I stamped all the images at once and then stamped the sentiments. So easy!  I put all the stamps in a large clear storage envelope for now until I can get some storage cases.

Since I had all the stamps already stamped, I decided to use my Silhouette Cameo to do print and cut so I wouldn't have to fussy cut them out. After I cut out my images, I colored them with Copic markers. The lattice background is something I created a long time ago in my Silhouette. It is just printed, no cutting. I cut the corners of the sentiment with a 1/2" circle punch and colored it with Distress Ink. I cut out some black and burnt orange cardstock for mats and glued everything together.

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!

Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios - Paper Boat

I love making cards to have on hand so that I don't rush to make a card I need at the last minute. I also cut out many different sentiments so that all I have to do is find a card and a sentiment to add. Today's card is just that. I used Rachelle Anne Miller's adorable Paper Boat digital stamp to create this versatile card. It can be used for various occasions or just a plain note card.

Here's how I made the 6"x 6" card:
  1. First, I created a mask for the digital stamp: I used my 6" roll of Eclipse masking tape and cut off a piece about 5". I placed that on the top left corner of a piece of copy/bond paper. Using Microsoft Publisher (you can use Word), I made sure the image was on the top left corner and printed the image on the masking tape. With the mask on the cardstock, cut out the image using scissors.
  2. I printed the digital stamp on cardstock. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out in a circle. If you don't have an electronic cutter, just place a circle template over the image and cut out the circle or you can use your paper trimmer to cut it out in a square or rectangle. Put the mask over the image.
  3. I used a 1-3/8" circle punch and created a mask for the moon. I placed a small piece of masking paper over cardstock and punched out the circle then put the mask over the edge of the the cardstock where I wanted the moon.
  4. To create a mask for the water part of the card, I put a 5" piece of masking tape on cardstock and just hand cut a wavy mask. I put the mask on the bottom portion of the cardstock.
  5. I used Distress Inks (colors listed below) to create the sky. Be careful you do not lift any parts of the masks, when inking. I stared off with the light color in the middle then the darker color towards the outside of the circle. Using white acrylic paint, I splattered on some additional stars. I used the acrylic white paint to paint the bigger stars white since they were inked. I let this dry a few minutes before continuing.
  6. Carefully removed the mask covering the water. I used this piece to mask off parts of the water to ink blend. To ink blend the water, I first masked off the sky. You can use scraps of masking paper just to mask off the section between the sky and water. You don't need to mask the entire sky.
  7. Using the cardstock I used to cut the mask for the water, I used it like a stencil to ink blend the water.  If you have a wave stencil, you can use that.
  8. I colored the digital stamp and moon with Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers (colors listed below).
  9. To finish the card, I cut out 2 card layers plus the base card in the following sizes: 1) 6"x6" white cardstock; 2) 5-3/4" x 5=3/4" solid cardstock (blue); and 3) 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" patterned paper/cardstock. I glued it all together and added a bow and a charm.
  10. I will add a sentiment from my stash when I use my card.
Have fun making this card. Thank you for visiting!

Conie Fong - Sunflower in a Pot - Bundle

I like to have some sympathy cards on hand so when I need them, I don't have to rush to make them. I like to send sympathy cards right away. I made these very simple, but gorgeous, cards using digital files from Conie Fong called Sunflower in a Pot - Bundle, which comes in a bundle of five images, including two sunflowers not in a pot and two sentiments (sympathy and birthday).

I like using digital files, because you can make them any size you want and you can overlap them without the fuss of masking as you would with rubber stamps. When purchasing this set of files, make sure you get the PNG files and not the JPG. You can use Microsoft Word or Publisher to create your digital card, print it out, then color it.  For the card with the flowers not in a pot, I used Publisher to create the A2 size card. For the slimline card with the flower pot, I used my Silhouette software.

I am providing detailed instructions for the A2 card and brief instructions for the slimline card. For the slimline card, you should be familiar with the Silhouette software to make this card. If you are not familiar with the Silhouette software, use Publisher or Work with patterned paper to make this slimline card.

How to make the A2 Card:
  1. In Publisher, Draw a Text Box with a size of 3.75" x 5"
  2. Using the Drawing Tools Format, Shape Fill, fill this box with the color black
  3. Insert the digital images into the text box. You can resize the flowers any size you like. To achieve the look I have, make sure the flowers are off the edges of the box. I rotated the flowers to where I wanted the leaves to be placed.
  4. For the sentiment, use the Insert, Shapes and select the oval shape. Using the Drawing Tools Format Shape Fill, you will fill this oval with the color white.
  5. Insert the sentiment digital file into the oval. You will need to resize both the oval and sentiment so it fits on the card.
  6. Print and then cut to the size of 3.75" x 5"
  7. Color (I used Copic markers, but you can use any color medium) then glue it on matching cardstock and then glue it on your base cardstock. You can add some embellishments of choice.
Copic markers used:
Sunflower petals: YR27, YR23, YR21, YR20
Center of sunflowers: E49, E47, E44, E43, E42
Leaves & stem: G28, G17, G03, G00
Flower Pot: E49, E44, E42

For the slimline card, I used my Silhouette Cameo. I used the Silhouette software to create the striped background with a size of 8.25" x 3.25". Then I merged the flower pot and sentiment onto the background and printed out the card. I then used Copic markers to color the Sunflower in a Pot. I used a ruler and Sharpie to draw a box around the sentiment. I cut the base card 7" x 8.25". Score at 3.5" and fold in half. I cut a mat card the size of 3-3/8" x 8.25". You will need to cut your face card about 1/8" all the way around so it fits on the mat. Glue it all together and you are done!

Copic markers used:

Center of sunflowers: E49, E47, E44, E43, E42

Conie Fong - Sunflower Gnome

Did you know that gnomes are symbols of good luck? Gnomes are thought to provide protection over things buried in the ground, such as treasures and minerals. They are still used today to provide protection for crops and livestock. It is also believed that gnomes protect gardens and that is why you see many garden gnomes. Conie Fong has created this adorable Sunflower Gnome digital stamp. It comes in a five-stamp bundle that includes three stamps and two sentiments. It is currently on sale, so grab it now!

For this 6x6 card, I imported the digital stamps into my Silhouette Cameo and did a print and cut. Then I colored the stamp using Copic markers. I cut out a circle using a die and colored it with Distress Inks. I used Distress Ink to ink up a wood grain stencil and cut the paper diagonally. I found the patterned paper on Freepik. All supplies are listed below.

Paper Nest Dolls - Hanukkah Set

Hanukkah, also known as the Celebration of Lights, is an eight day Jewish celebration that will begin this year on the evening of December 10 and end on the evening of December 18.  The word Hanukkah means re-dedication. Every year, the celebration honors the hard-fought victory of those trying to keep their faith despite a powerful enemy. I have several Jewish friends that I will be sending Hanukkah cards. This year I will be using this adorable Hanukkah Set from Paper Nest Dolls! There are five digital stamps in this set. Head on over to Paper Nest Dolls to see the entire set.

For this card, I colored the digital stamps with Copic markers. I colored the die cuts with Distress Ink.  I created and cut out the sentiment with my Silhouette Cameo using permanent vinyl. All the supplies are listed below.

Stamp Anniething - Cocoa is Calling

I just love all the cute chibi doll stamps from Stamp Anniething. I colored this free digital stamp called Cocoa is Calling using my Copic markers. There are actually two free images, the other one is the same little boy, but he is holding a different mug. Both are adorable! I may use the other image for a holiday card. I'm not sure how long this stamp will be free, so if you want it, get it today.

I am entering this card in their monthly challenge. The theme is Anything Goes, which means you are free to make any style card you want.

I used distress ink and a couple of stencils from Stamp Anniething to create some texture on my card. I cut the circles using the circle die from their Basic Shaker #1 set. I cut about a third of it off. The sentiment comes with the stamp and I cut it out using one of their border dies. I found the background paper from Freepik.

Conie Fong - Christmas Blessings

This year I am going to try to make some simple but elegant slimline Christmas cards. I made this card using Conie Fong's Christmas Blessings digital stamp.

I used Microsoft Publisher and drew a text box that was 3.5" tall by 8" wide. I formatted the lines by adding a 1.0 pt line in black so that they show on the page when you print it (Format Text Box). I inserted two of the images onto the text box so that parts of the images were off the text box that will be cut off at the top and the other one cut off at the bottom (see example below). After I printed it, I used the lines as guides to cut the card (cut just inside the lines). I colored the images using Copic markers.

For the sentiment, I used my Silhouette Cameo to create the shape and I cut out the letters using some glittery purple vinyl. I used transfer tape to put the sentiment onto the card. I tied some twine and added a charm and the card was done.

Reminder: All Conie Fong digital stamps are 30% off until August 14.  Good time to stock up.

Thank you for stopping by!

Rachelle Anne Miller - Fireflies

I live in Northern California so I've never seen a real firefly. I'm hoping to see one some day, but for now, I am happy to color them using Rachelle Anne Miller's Fireflies digital stamp! This stamp is so adorable!

First I masked the digital stamp then used Distress Inks to make the sky. I then added some hand-drawn fireflies to make a night scene. I used a white gel pen to color the wings, a red gel pen for the body, and a yellow sparkle pen for the tail. Using a paint brush, I used yellow acrylic paint and painted dots to make them look like fireflies that are off to a distance. I colored the digital stamp using Copic markers and added some extra tufts of grass. To finish this slimline card, I added a sentiment and some Stickles to the fireflies' wings and tails.

Rachelle also has a line of art prints and greeting cards. All so adorable. Please check it out.

Thank you for stopping by!

Paper Nest Dolls - Artist Emma

I know it's been difficult for a lot of people to stay home during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have tried to make the best of it by staying busy with my crafting. So today, I am sharing a card made with Paper Nest Dolls Artist Emma. This would be a cute card to send to family and friends to encourage them to stay home and craft. Artist Emma is available as a red rubber stamp and as a digital stamp.

For this card, I colored Artist Emma with Spectrum Noir Illustrator alcohol markers. I cut out the window using the Ultimate Crafts Season's Greetings Ornate Window Frame die. I love this die, because the window can open and close. I used some Zig 2 way glue so that it can stay shut. I then cut the blue cardstock and embossed it with the Elizabeth Craft Designs Mini Mosaic embossing folder.

I added a window box of flowers. I just cut out a strip of cardstock and colored it making it look like wood. I used hot glue to glue the flowers onto the window box.

Thank you for stopping by and have a fun crafting day!
