Scrappy Boy Stamps: Get Into the Groove! Magical!

I still remember in 1990 when the Queen of Pop's Blond Ambition Tour was coming to Northern California. I was a mom of a toddler at the time and didn't want to travel out of town to see her. She's one of my favorite musicians so when Scrappy Boy Stamps came out with the Blonde Ambition stamp set, I was so EXCITED! I just LOVE the stamps, stencils, and papers!! Also, you all know how I love the Cute Girls line of stamps too. This month's set, Spa Day, stamps are just too cute! I had to make a project with one of the girls using the Magic Mirror Mini Album Die!

Woodblock Wednesday Challenge: Hello Cow Card

I'm participating in this month's Woodblock Wednesday run by Amy Tsuruta, where you make a card using rubber stamps that are mounted on wood. I’m using two of my vintage stamps. The cow stamp is made by Imaginations and the cloud stamp is by TRL Designs. I don't believe these stamp companies are in business any longer, but some of their used stamps can be found on Ebay and Etsy.  I thought these two stamps paired together to make a cute "hello" card.  I created the grass and sky using Copic markers.

Products used:
  • Cow stamp by Imaginations
  • Clouds stamp by TRL Designs
  • Hello Die by The Stamps of Life

Copic markers used to color stamps and background:
  • Clouds: B000, B0000
  • Sky: B01, B000, B0000
  • Grass: YG17, YG13, YG03, YG01
  • Pink: R83, R81
  • Purple: V17, V15, V13
  • Black: N7, N5, N3
  • White: N3, N1, 0

Although these stamps are no longer available, it is easy to find cow and clouds stamps to recreate this card. It's a quick card you can make and a fun one to color!

Thank you for stopping by. Have a creative day!

Stamp Anniething: Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve! I am joining in the Stamp Anniething Stampers March Design Challenge where the only parameter is to create a St. Patrick's Day card using any Stamp Anniething digital stamp. My card is to share some inspiration with the F'Annies and show that you can use most any stamp to create a St. Patrick Day card just by changing the sentiment. I used the digital stamp called Love Is In The Air and used St. Patrick's Day colors.

Stamp Anniething products used:
  • Love Is In The Air digital stamp
  • Luck of the Irish Paper Pack (retired)
  • Clouds Stencil (retired)
Supplies used:
  • A2 white card base
  • Distress Oxide Ink in Twisted Citron for clouds
  • Digital sentiment created in Microsoft Word

Copic markers used to color stamp:
  • Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
  • Cheeks: E93
  • Tongue: R22, R20
  • Hair: 100, C5, C3
  • Green: G17, YG17, YG13, YG03
  • Silver: N5, N3, N1
  • Blue: BG01, BG000, BG0000
  • Purple: V17, V15, V12

I created the frame for this card using the Luck of the Irish paper. This paper is retired, but you can use any St. Patrick's Day patterned paper for this project. I cut paper strips at 5/8" wide and mitered the corners to make the frame fit.

I created a new banner with the Happy St. Patrick's Day sentiment using Microsoft Word. I cut off the original sentiment and just replaced it with mine.

It's fun and easy to make cards with digital stamps. You can make the image any size you like. I hope you give this card a try!

Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Stamp Anniething: Liang - Year of the Dragon

My family celebrates Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) every year. This year, the new year began on February 10, 2024. We celebrated Chinese New Year's Eve, the "closing" of the old year, on the 9th and have postponed celebrating the new year until all of my family are able to get together. The day we will "open" the new year is planned for March 23. A lot later than we normally do, but it's the only weekend most are available. According to my mom, who knows all the Chinese traditions, says it's not a problem to celebrate late. This gave me some extra time to make a few Chinese New Year cards, like this one using the adorable digital stamp called Liang - Year of the Dragon from Stamp Anniething

I imported the digital stamp in Microsoft Publisher and sized it for an A2 size card at 3"W. I let it automatically adjust the height. It is about 3" high. I created the sentiment and centered it to fit the card.

I added a some detail to the face with light pencil markings. I used Copic markers to color the digital stamp in the following colors:

Liam:
  • Skin: E04, E11, E21, E00, E000
  • Hair: 100, C7, C5, C3
  • Cheeks: E93
  • Tongue: R22, R20
  • Shirt and Pants (Red): R39, R24, R22, R21
  • Belt (Yellow): YR23, Y15 ,Y13, Y11
Dragon:
  • Yellow: YR23, Y15, Y13, Y11
  • Orange: YR18, YR16, YR15
  • Green: G28, YG17, YG03
  • Red: R39, R24, R22, R21
  • Black (Pole and Ground: C5, C3, C1)

I used a Prismacolor colored pencil (PC925/Crimson Lake) to create the scales on the dragon.

I trimmed the card front, matted it with black cardstock, and then with gold cardstock and adhered it to a top-folding A2 white card base.

I love clean and simple cards, since they keep the focus on the stamp. I hope you give this card a try. It's not too late to send a Chinese New Year card!

Thank you for visiting. Have a creative day!
